Team 88 won a hard fought KO Cup match in the Ayrshire Golf League and have now progressed to the second round of the Presidents Putter.
Home Advantage
The Home tie vs Girvan produced a 2-1 victory in the 4 man team event at Auchenharvie Golf Course on Sunday 22nd April.
Presidents Putter Format
The format of two singles ties and a double match makes for a tie with very little margin for error.
Thankfully the two singles ties decided the outcome of the match with the ever consistent Andy MacDonald winning his singles tie and the in form Scott Little continuing to impress.
The “Two B’s” Brian Robertson and Bryan McCandless formed the doubles partnership that nearly made it a clean sweep of victories for the team but were narrowly edged out in a tight foursomes match.
Presidents Putter KO Cup Round 2
Team 88 are now looking forward to the second round tie in which they have been drawn to play away from home vs Ayr Neptune who play out of Belleisle.
The tie is scheduled to take place on Sunday 20th May at 10.00am
The lads are looking forward to trying to go further in the competition last year after the second round knockout last year.
