With the penultimate matches of the Ayrshire Golf League to be completed by the end of the month (July 2018) there is still a lot to play for in Section B!
July has started in the right fashion for Team88 with the lads recording another comprehensive home win vs Irvine Ravenspark on Friday 6th July posting a winning score of 4.5 – 1.5
El Scorchio!
Whilst the sunshine and the weather is proving enjoyable for the majority of people in Scotland the golf courses in the west in particular have been witness to the driest fairways and greens in recent years. Making course’s play shorter, but with tricky bounces and many a golfer left with much more to think about than “hitting a green” this is true links golf. Some might say the truest test of golfing ability. The “Duel In The Sun” seems to be a daily occurrence and not just a once in a lifetime event!
The Streak Continues
On a scorched, dry course on a warm Friday evening Team88 knew that only a win would help their Semi-Final qualification hopes. Thats exactly what they did.
Winning their first 4 matches the tie was in the bag, another half point from the final group cemented the win to add to the points won tally (which may prove crucial)
How It Stands
The win puts Team88 level at the top of the group on 22 points with Beith Golf Club (at the time of publishing)
With 4 ties remaining the team know that its going to be close come the end of the season, but they have it in their own hand to try and seal another league win.
